Contributing to the Wiki

The Yo-kai Watch Wiki is a collaborative wiki resource that is open for anyone to edit. You don't need special permission beyond registering an account to edit most pages, and your contributions can grow the wiki and help other players.

Adding content
  • If you are unsure of what to do or how to create a page, search for a few articles on the same topic and see what they look like. You can always view the source code in a wiki and learn from what others have done.
  • An edit doesn't have to be massive; if you feel you don't want to create whole articles, then just fixing spelling errors and broken links is enough.
  • Register to edit and track your contributions.
  • Do not contribute incorrect info, intentional or not. The best way to know is by pulling it from game data or seeing it onscreen.
  • If a localization or official term is released for a game or character previously unlocalized, move the page to the proper name, and edit terms where necessary.
  • Use Japanese terms for any undubbed media. If it got an official sub, list what said sub called it, but still use the Japanese name unless it gets dubbed.

To reiterate: Incorrect information will not be tolerated. If you input information copy pasted from other sites, not from game data or ingame view, Google Translated or other such means for Japanese-only content, or otherwise without a source, your edit may be reverted or asked for a source.

About Yo-kai Watch

Yo-kai Watch is a franchise about befriending spirits called Yo-kai. It is deeply rooted in Japanese mythology, especially with many Yo-kai being named after real-life Yōkai. While many of the games, movies, anime, and manga volumes aren't officially localized, there are officially endorsed movie/anime subs for some content. The series is not just about making friends, as many of the central conflicts are centered around controlling the human or Yo-kai Worlds, and as the series goes on, some of these may transcend time or space itself. Many of these games were on 3DS, but an excellent starting point is Yo-kai Watch 1 for Nintendo Switch for any newcomers, although this entry was not localized, so for that, the 3DS version is needed.
